A governance solution baked into the foundation of a multi-national logistics giant.
3,000 people. 11 countries. 5 continents. Permanent staff, contractors, remote workers and third-party suppliers — all previously on paper, email and spreadsheets. Safe Workplace was written into the Code of Conduct itself.
Paper, email, spreadsheets — and a compliance function running on goodwill.
Before Safe Workplace, Seafrigo's employee relations, risk and compliance processes were built on manual infrastructure: paper records, email chains and spreadsheets. For a business operating across five continents in multiple languages, with a dispersed workforce that included permanent staff, remote employees, contract workers and third-party suppliers, that approach created real exposure. Concerns were slow to surface. Governance was inconsistent across regions. There was no structured channel to speak up — and no data layer to identify trends, spot root causes or give business stakeholders the visibility to act.
- Manual paper, email and spreadsheet processes across 5 continents
- Inconsistent governance region-to-region and worker-type-to-worker-type
- No structured speak-up channel for contractors, remote workers or suppliers
- No data layer to surface trends, root causes or exposure
French corporate-governance legislation was tightening. As a French-headquartered global operator, Seafrigo needed a compliance function that could meet those obligations at scale. Their EcoVadis rating — a key procurement credential — sat at Silver, and lifting it further required more than a new policy document.
A complete modernisation — from Code of Conduct to live platform.
Safe Workplace worked with Seafrigo from the ground up. The engagement began with the foundations: building out a new Code of Conduct, with Safe Workplace embedded directly into it as the operational mechanism for reporting and governance. This was not a platform bolted onto existing policy — Safe Workplace was written into the Code of Conduct itself, physically created in partnership with Seafrigo's leadership team. Clear channels were opened for staff to raise concerns across mobile and web, available to all 3,000 people regardless of role, location or employment type.
Written into the governance, not bolted onto it.
Seafrigo did not need another tool. They needed a governance mechanism their whole workforce could use, that regulators would recognise, and that procurement teams could evidence. Safe Workplace became the operating layer for all three.
- Embedded in the Code of ConductNot a bolt-on — the platform is written into the governance itself.
- Every worker type coveredPermanent, contractor, remote, third-party — one system, one route.
- Multi-country, multi-languageConfigured for local regulatory context across 11 countries.
- Procurement-grade evidenceAligned to EcoVadis and French governance requirements out of the box.
- Data layer for leadershipReal-time trend and root-cause analysis where before there was none.
