FAQ
What risk methodology do you support?
Safe Workplace supports 5×5, 4×4, and 3×3 risk matrices, as well as fully custom frameworks where you configure your own scoring dimensions, consequence categories, and escalation thresholds. If your regulator, board, or industry uses a specific methodology, the platform moulds to it, not the other way around.
Can I have local and corporate risk registers?
Yes the platform supports both. Local registers are managed at senior management level for day-to-day operational governance, while the corporate register is restricted to senior executives and board members. Any risk rated 12 or above is automatically classified and escalated to the corporate register, and both are downloadable as Excel for committee papers.
How do controls affect the residual risk score?
Each control you assign, whether preventive, detective, or corrective, carries a strength rating that directly reduces your residual risk score. You can see the movement in real time: from inherent risk, down through applied controls, toward your target score. RAG ratings update automatically so you can see exactly which measures are working and where gaps remain.
Can risks be escalated automatically?
Yes. When a risk hits a defined threshold, the platform automatically escalates it to the relevant process and alerts the right team members, no manual intervention needed. You set the thresholds; Safe Workplace handles the rest.
Can I download the risk register for committee meetings?
Yes both the local and corporate registers are downloadable as Excel, and you can generate board-ready PDF reports in seconds. Reports can include risk heat maps, trend analysis, control effectiveness summaries, and overdue actions by owner, all configurable by risk category, register, owner, or time period.
How does this connect to incidents and audits?
Through Linked Intel, every risk is automatically checked against your incidents, audit findings, and policy framework. When connections exist, for example, a supervision risk linked to a manual handling incident, an incomplete audit finding, and an overdue policy review. The platform surfaces them in one place. You get a complete picture of contributing factors across your governance data, with a traceable thread from risk to resolution that you can show regulators at any time.
